Auto Insurance
You left the house this morning with a smile and a hot cup of coffee. Breakfast with the family went off without a hitch. You got the kids to school with enough time for a hug and a kiss before you arrived at your office parking space on time. A productive day at work was to be followed by dinner at that new restaurant everyone’s been talking about. But, on your way home, the unthinkable happened. Someone wasn’t paying attention – which is bound to happen at some point – and ran a stop sign, hitting you head on. Luckily no one was badly hurt – this time. Your car on the other hand? It’s a total loss.
No matter how careful you are behind the wheel you can’t prevent all motor vehicle accidents. Not everyone on the road shares your good driving habits. Nobody wants to have to deal with situations like these. When it comes to car accidents and repairs, even if you emerge unscathed you still face a loss in time, money and patience. But with the right Massachusetts auto insurance policy in place, at least you’ll have one less thing to worry about.
When you get into a car accident, even if it was no fault of your own, you are faced with an inevitable series of hassles and hoops to jump through to return your life back to normal. Will you be reimbursed for the full value of your car? Will you be able to replace any items in the car – such as a laptop, luggage, smartphone or tablet – that were damaged in the accident? What about potential medical bills for you or your passengers? It all adds up so fast, and all you want is to get back to normal as quickly and painlessly as possible. You need a Massachusetts auto insurance policy that will help you glide over these hurdles easily, getting you a rental car immediately and securing the full value of your vehicle in the settlement.
We can help.
In Massachusetts, you are required to have 4 different types of car insurance coverages with the following minimums:
- Bodily Injury to Others:
- $20,000 per person.
- $40,000 per accident.
- Personal Injury Protection (PIP):
- $8,000 per person in an accident.
- Bodily Injury Caused by an Uninsured Auto:
- $20,000 per person.
- $40,000 per accident.
- Damage to Someone Else’s Property:
- $5,000 per accident.
PIP coverage will cover you or your passengers’ injuries from a car accident, regardless of who was at fault.
Many times, the stay required minimum coverages don’t offer quite enough protection. In these cases, drivers may also purchase higher limits on the required coverage types and/or purchase additional insurance coverages. When discussing your Massachusetts auto insurance needs with us, ask about the following types of optional coverage:
- Collision – This covers damages to your car caused by a traffic collision.
- Comprehensive – This covers non-collision-related incidents, such as damages to your vehicle caused by severe weather.
- Rental Car Coverage.
- Towing and labor.
The state does not require you to purchase collision and comprehensive coverage; however, if you have a car loan or are leasing your car, your finance company will require you to have both collision and comprehensive car insurance.
